Ernie Davis Hall at Syracuse University Dedicated

The dedication ceremony was held on October 2, 2009 for the Ernie Davis Hall designed by Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects; the new residence hall at Syracuse University is named in honor of the late Ernie Davis. This new 145,000 square foot facility houses 250 students and provides lounges, study areas, laundry facilities, a game room, a resident director apartment and residence hall support spaces as well as a new lawn for light recreational activities between the new building and an existing residence hall. In January, the first two floors of the building are scheduled to be complete and offer a 500-seat dining hall with a 70-seat private dining room, a 10,600 square foot recreation facility, and 2,000 square feet of academic space including classroom, lab and consultation rooms. An indoor path runs through the building providing circulation to the different spaces and connecting the heart of the campus with the new and neighboring residence halls.
